there's absolutely nothing to be concerned about in writing characters you haven't played before :).
I wouldn't take that as a deterrent :). Personally, I always pick up characters I haven't played before - but I'm a bit odd on that I like to almost always do someyhing at least a little different xD. So my practice isn't at all the *typical* one, but I do tend to feel that from it I can say that
i have never played j'onn, nor have i ever played clark/mon
